ISC-Europe meeting in Poland

Between May 7th and 9th in Warsaw, Poland was held the meeting of European Department of International Spiritist Council. The event was organized by the local spiritist institution (Polskie Towarzystwo Studiów Spirytystycznych), presided by Konrad Jerzak, who translated to Polish the meeting discussions, the seminary and the conference to people from Poland present at this event.
The ISC-Europe meeting was coordenated by Charles Kempf (France) and counted with the participation of the ISC general secretary Nestor João Masotti and members of the Executive Commission, like Antonio Cesar Perri de Carvalho, Elsa Rossi, Jean-Paul Evrard and Ricardo Lequerica. The participants from the following countries came to the event: Austria, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Belarus, France, United Kindgom, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and the representants of the hosting country. The reports from each of the countries were presented, as well as subjects related to giving more dynamics and better organization to the spiritist movement in Europe as well as the 6th World Spiritist Congress which is planned to be held in Spain (Valencia, October 2010).
At the end the public attended a seminary that proposed the following topics: Ideal of unification in the works of Chico Xavier (Cesar Perri), organization of small study groups (Charles Kempf), which was finished by Divaldo Franco message to spiritist workers. Through mediumship of Divaldo Frnaco a psychofonic message was received from Bezerra de Menezes.
On May 8th (Saturday) at the conference room in the Technics Institute, situated in the center of Warsaw, was held Divaldo Pereira Franco’s conference which was followed by questions and answers session. Profiting this opportunity, the Polish spiritist group presented to the public the first edition of “The Gospel According to Spiritism” in Polish language.
After the meeting in Poland, the general secretary Nestor João Masotti travelled to Switzerland and France to participate in spiritist events and Cesar Perri went to London where he organized several commemorative events as tribute to Chico Xavier’s 100th anniversary.

In the month of March, the ISC in cooperation with the Polish publishing house Rivail published the first copies of Spirits’ Book in Finnish. This prepared the event on March 20th during which the books where presented to the public. It happened in one of the rooms in Helsinki University. Charles Kempf representing the ISC and Konrad Jerzak from Polish spiritist movement gave conference explaining to the public in a clear manner what is spiritism, even if the term itself is not understood correctly in Finland. The introduction and the translation was provided by voluntary Pekka Kaarakainen. During the conference the following topics were discussed: 1) The Spirits’ Book 2) Philosophical and scientific point of view presented in The Spirits’ Book 3) The coherence of recent researches with the point of view from the Spirits’ Book 4) The influence of spiritualist philosophy on human being The number of participants was not big, however the questions covered during the conference were numerous and very interesting. At the end of the conference, the participants received as present their copies of The Spirits’ Book in Finnish and of the Spiritist Magazine. The participants were asked not to pay for the books but to transfer the equivalent of its value to help people who suffered during the earthquake in Haiti. The participants decided also to start periodical meetings (once per two months) to study together the content of The Spirits’ Book. The first meeting was held the next day with presence of Charles Kempf. The participants of the meeting discussed the following topics: 1) Questions and answers regarding: - the free will and the destiny in human life - how the spirits influence our lives 2) How the spiritist meetings are organized in other countries - Charles experiences from France 3) How to profit better from the next meeting - One fragment from the book to be chosen and discussed during the next meeting - Discussion will be open after the lecture - Punctuality The date of the next meeting will be sent by e-mail to the participants and given also on the website: www.spiritismi.fi The ISC donated also 10 books to the National Finnish Library which will put it into its catalogue and distribute to the biggest libraries in Finland. The names of these libraries will be given on the website: www.spiritismi.fi , which will help the people to find and borrow the book easily. This way Spirits’ Book will be disponible to most of the Finnish citizens. Together with Polish publishing house RIVAIL first contract was signed with one of the bookstores in Helsinki. In nearest future an online store will be open (www.allankardec.fi) selling and shipping the books to Finland and to other countries. This way all the people interested in this title will be able to purchase it easily. All this event was organized thanks to cooperation of all. The ISC and Polish spiritist movement was represented, but also several volunteers from Finland. Additionaly many friends from Brazil helped this event with their prayers – volunteers from DVD Versatil sent copies of DVD with movie about Kardec with Finnish subtitles and the Baltimore Group from USA sent the copies of Spiritist Magazine.
