The
ship proceeds. We cannot find another symbol to more adequately typify
our work in group, as it is known that a vessel at sea remains amidst
constant perils.
If
the vessel does not resist the storm, it sinks to the bottom. If it
stands still, it delays its journey. If it does not defend itself, it is
threatened by sea monsters. If it does not follow safe guidance, it is
destined to become adrift and will have to face the consequences.
Indeed,
a Spiritist group at the service of Christ is like this vessel, which is
greatly valued and under constant attacks, enlightened and persecuted by
the elements triggered from Nature, every time unbalance arises.
This
is why we address the hearts and courage of our fellow companions to
have confidence based in Faith.
Even
in times when progress makes itself slow, let us advance with
determination. The work belongs to He who has chosen us for the journey
and the port is resplendent in great light and blessings.
May
we not let ourselves be seduced by less fortunate suggestions, neither
by complaints when faced by storm, nor by joys of illusions in the land
where golden dust nurtures fantasies.
Let
us always work, maintaining unity and confidence at the very heart of
our activities. It is not always the wind to overturn the courageous
sailing ships, many times it is the lack of a compass. This compass is
our firm attitude towards the duties that have been assigned to us.
Whatever
happens, let us resort to prayer as the means to overcome the
difficulties that may have appeared. May prayer be the instrument to
re-establish our inner peace, for prayer induces the individuals to
meditate upon the higher life.
